1 Corinthians 14 - Gifts and Gender 4

Would you rather be in a church characterised by the power of love or the love of power?

In the conclusion to our study in 1 Corinthians 14 we unpack the instructions Paul gives about women’s silence in gatherings of the church. On first reading it can sound like it’s more about power than love; about control more than care. Sadly it’s often been used that way, but as we pay attention to the flow of thought in the passage we can see that it really is about the power of love to transform our relationships. As we explore this passage we touch on the difference between authority and power.
