Truth, Prayer and Good Government

This message begins with a brief exploration of God’s amazing gift of forgetfulness. Our ability to forget what is no longer useful to us is a superpower! It allows our minds to be renewed by His truth so that we are transformed as people. It also challenges us to make sure we are using the truth God reveals to us, otherwise we’ll lose it. As a Church we’re going to practice together recalling just one thing that God reveals each Sunday. We’ll then practice how we help each other to personally process and apply that truth so that it results in transformation.

We begin by listening to God speak to us from 1 Timothy 2:1-6 which records Paul’s instruction to Timothy to cultivate prayer in the church at Ephesus as the first priority. As we learn about prayer, about God’s heart for all people and for the proper role of Government we are listening for the truth that God wants each of us individually to hear, understand and obey.
