The Stone that the Builders Rejected – Matthew 21:1-11

The Stone that the Builders Rejected - Matthew 21:1-11

In the second part of our look at the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, we explore the amazing way that Psalm 118 predicts these events and shapes the expectations of the crowds. By getting familiar with their mindset and the circumstances they were living in, we can appreciate why they were so caught up in an agenda that didn’t actually line up with what God was doing. We can also see how easy it is for us to do the same thing. Sometimes that means we chase things God doesn’t really want for us… at least not yet. Sometimes it also means we reject the One who is working for our good and resist what He is doing in the moment.  The only way to be part of the glorious, eternal kingdom that God is building is to trust in who Jesus is and allow God to build our lives on Him.  That’s how the Christian life begins and it’s also the daily, moment-by-moment discipline of how it grows!
