The Great Commission part 3

The Great Commission part 3

Every community needs to decide how it deals with the tension between what the individual wants and what is good for the whole community. We’re seeing institutions at all levels – from families, schools, community & sporting groups, churches up to whole nations – grappling with how to have the conversations and put in place systems to manage that tension for the good of all.

The Great Commission actually provides that framework for the Church. Jesus shows us what that looks like as we make Him the centre of our personal life and our community life. We step through the story of Matthew 26:1-16 as one example of how Jesus helps a community of people to figure out a situation where they disagreed about how one person’s actions impacted on other people. It’s a great guide for how we can love each other well and grow in Christ-like maturity together.
