On the Mountaintop with Jesus: Challenge and Comfort

As we reflect on Peter, James and John’s mountaintop experience with Jesus, we take a look back over the landscape they’ve been travelling through to see the big picture of what’s been going on. As we do that it brings great clarity to the call to discipleship that Jesus gives us in Matthew 16&17. We are challenged with the path Jesus had to follow and the path He leads us on; but we’re also comforted to see a glimpse of the glory that lies on the other side of suffering and sacrifice. We need both the challenge and the comfort of this mountaintop experience.
