Be a Godly Woman
Following from last weeks message about how to be a godly man, this message continues the theme of building a community of spiritual mothers and fathers; brothers and sisters; daughters and sons. We see how Paul encourages Titus to build that kind of community among the churces on Crete and learn from the very practical instructions he gives about how godly women can be effective spiritual mothers to those who are younger. We notice that the original meaning of the text can get distorted when we read our own life experience into it, so we take some time to unpack what the original readers would have easily understood by the phrase “workers at home”. We then go on to explore how godly women can help those who are younger to work through the issues surrounding the working at home/working outside of home challenges that men and women in our culture must grapple with.
