A Community of Godly Sorrow
In the last message of our “Love, Share, Grow” series, we discover a timeless truth in 2 Corinthians 7 which has the power to completely change our experience of hardship in community. Living in relationship with others is going to cause pain at times – it will be that way until Jesus returns and gets rid of sin once and for all. Until then we can process that pain with godly sorrow or with worldly sorrow. One is life giving and leads to transformation; the other keeps us stuck in sin and the destruction it brings.
We look at what godly sorrow produced in the community at Corinth and contrast it with what might have happened if they had chosen the path of worldly sorrow instead. It’s pretty clear which choice is better for us to make in the situations we find ourselves in today!
