Vision: Love, Share, Grow
At Kingsley we use 3 words to describe what God calls a local church to be, so to start 2021 we’ve been re-looking at these 3 key themes from 1 Corinthians 12 – 14.
The church God calls us to be and that we long to be more like is simply a church that loves, shares and grows.
People love God and each other with a love that comes from God. They share that love in the ways God has designed them to as unique individuals who are part of one body. Because God is at work in us to produce both the desire and ability to do that, the result is that we will grow. We will together grow closer to God and more like God.
The question we face though is: “What if I don’t actually love my church family that much?”
It’s good to face up to that honestly and know that we’re not alone in feeling that way sometimes! God spoke to the Corinthians about that through Paul and to the Ephesians through John. He revealed how much that matters and what we each one of us can do to turn things around.
Church is not a product to consume, it’s people to love. That’s how we know that we know God and that His love lives in us. That’s worth going after.
